Chief Instructor's Page
The primary duties of the Chief Instructor at OVGC are to promote the safe enjoyment of our facilities. With that in mind, if you have any questions that I may be able to answer, please feel free to drop me an e-mail at either of the addresses provided below.
New-member orientation starts at 8:00 AM on Work Day, the second Saturday of each month.
We will meet at the main parking lot under the covered eating area. Please bring clothing appropriate to the weather and remember we are 2 to 3 thousand feet higher than you are as you leave home; In most cases, the weather can be quite a bit different. Wear shoes or boots that are comfortable for an hour's walk on uneven ground as we will be walking the range. You will continue to Work Day after orientation, so bring work gloves and dress for dirty work. A hat is also a good idea.
We will serve lunch, but you may wish to bring additional beverages or other items you may need or want (including personal medication if necessary).
We are quite some distance from the nearest phone, much less a store.
Current Course Offerings NOTE: The following classes are offered by the Instructors listed as a contact (not by OVGC).
The Instructor is responsible for its content and conduct. The club simply lists the available classes of NRA- or California-certified Instructors who are club members as a service to those of you who wish to take classes.
The club has no further involvement and makes no recommendations. No further information is available through the Club.

Send E-mail to the Chief instructor containing the information about the course type, dates and times, cost, method for students to contact you, and your NRA Certification level(s). (Phone number is a minimum but you can include an e-mail or snail mail address as well. All of the contact information will be posted on the web, so think about what you want on view).
I may have other enquires and would like to know who is qualified to teach the various disciplines to offer referrals. Please send the information to the e-mail address near the bottom of this page.
Instructors wishing to post material to this Web site should include a scanned in image of their current NRA certification card showing ratings held, as an attachment to any E-Mail requests to have classes posted. Please attach a photocopy of the card to any mailed or hand-delivered copies; this needs only to be done once during the time before the expiration date shown on that card.
Copies of the cards will be given to the club sectary for the club records.
